A quick jaunt to Disney

My eldest is about to have her birthday, so we gave her the choice of a birthday party at home or to go to Disney. Cost-wise...it was a roughly the same for us, and she chose Disney. Here's what a typical Magic Kingdom visit for us is like.

Ahh...a nice overcast day to keep the temperature down...hopefully...

SPACE MOUNTAIN! SPACE MOUNTAIN!

Awww...newlyweds...they have NO idea what they're in for...

Hmmm...there's some strange writing here...
(Disney is great on details...you CAN decode that plaque.)

What's this? Space Mountain. A part of it.

HAUNTED MANSION!

Madame Leota...we miss you. However, you don't seem quite dead yet...those who visit your tombstone in person will see why...

It's a small world after all...it's a small world after all...
...BUT IT'S A BIG FREAKING LINE BEFOREHAND!!!

It's always a relaxing ride through it...and it numbs your brain with the theme over and over again so that you don't notice how Disney gouges you throughout the day. I highly recommend riding "It's A Small World" a few times just so the rest of the day doesn't get to you...

The back of Cinderella's Castle. The windows immediately above the tunnel are for a restaurant that's in the castle. This is where we're headed...

Inside the restaurant, the windows have nice stained glass...

...and a great view of the carousel!

This...sword...NEVER...comes...OUT!

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad!

Looking back at the castle and across Frontierland.

Another view of the castle at night...

...Tomorrowland at night...

...and another view of the castle...

...and the finale for the day...the fireworks!
